Track Detail
1. Tom & Jerry (hoedown in A) Six different variations with upgraded bowings, two variations use 3rd position, two variations use intermittent double stops/drones.
2. Forty Year Ago Waltz (waltz in Bb) Two parts based on the playing of J.T. Perkins, includes lots of double stops and slides and is in a tough key.
3. I Don't Love Nobody (tune of choice in A) Two parts also based on the playing of J.T. Perkins, includes upgraded bowings, the B part consists of almost all double stops.
4. Whiskey Before Breakfast/Over the Waterfall/Maid Behind the Bar (Irish medley in D) Each tune is two parts, Whiskey Before Breakfast is considered a contest hoedown. Of all the fast tunes on the album this medley is the easiest to play.
5. Billy in the Lowground (hoedown in the key of C) Seven different variations based on the playing of Benny Thomasson, includes upgraded bowings, one variation requires a shift to 3rd position for one note only.
6. Emilia's Waltz (waltz in D) Two part simple but beautiful waltz.
7. Red Apple Rag (tune of choice in G) Arthur Smith tune, stays close to the standard variation except for a tricky Aubrie Haynie lick on the B part, includes upgraded bowings.
8. Forked Deer (hoedown in D) Five different variations based on the playing of Terry Morris, includes upgraded bowings, the B part requires the use of a 4th finger drone, the D part shifts into 3rd position.
9. Jessica Waltz (waltz in A) Two part waltz played all the way through with triple stops using a bow trick, this waltz is done by unscrewing the bow hair and putting the stick of the bow underneath the fiddle and wrapping the bow hair over the top of the strings allowing the hair to sit on three strings at a time (see Milk Cow Blues CD cover picture).
10. Shelbourne's Reel (reel in Bb) Four part tune in a tough key, the C part has difficult string crossings.
11. Centennial Waltz (waltz in D) Two part waltz, transcription comes with a twin fiddle part, includes a few grace notes, slightly harder than Emilia's waltz but still pretty simple to play.
12. Fiddlin' Around (swing tune in G) Johnny Gimble tune in AABA format, almost the entire tune consists of double stops and the A part doubles use the 4 th finger extensively; both parts require shifts to 2nd and 3rd positions.
13. Georgianna Moon (waltz in D) Two variations of a great arrangement, includes double stops, a few bars of 3rd position, and triplet runs.
14. Milk Cow Blues (swing tune in A) One part 12 bar blues, includes drones/double stops that require the 4 th finger, one 3rd position shift, and slides.
